My name is Ellie and I am a professional independent personal trainer, eating psychology and holistic life coach who has worked in the industry for over fifteen years.
I started my career as an assistant golf professional, then moving to gym-based personal training before deciding to start my own business as a mobile personal trainer and coach a few years later.
People often ask me where I came up with the name Vida Fitness. The name Vida is Spanish for life and when I first started my business, I wanted
a name that embodied the importance of being fit and healthy for life. This encompasses all aspects of ourselves: body, mind, spirit, and emotions.
Over the years my approach to training with clients has drastically changed as I saw a vast number of people really struggling to make positive lasting changes despite all of the information and support on hand. This made me really delve into the psychology behind nutrition and training as I knew this is where the magic happens.
After qualifying as an eating psychology coach and mind-body practitioner I started implementing the tools and strategies I learned and saw real lasting progress with clients. There is so much more to training than just making you sweat!
I firmly believe that the best way for you to achieve lasting results is for me to see you as a whole person; meaning that my approach will often take a holistic direction. During coaching with me, we will explore your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states, as well as your nutrition, physical activity, digestion, sleep, lifestyle, career, and relationships, as all parts of your life can have a profound effect on your health and fitness as a whole. We will bring awareness to these factors to positively affect and change food choices, activity, and behaviour.
Working together we will uncover the root causes holding you back from making the changes you desire. I don't believe in six week transformations or quick fixes, as often these can negatively affect your body composition and well being. What I do believe in is your ability to make a lasting sustainable change when done in a supportive, exploratory, and guiding way.
